Here’s what you’re going to need for these Milky Way cookies.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup salted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 8 Fun Size Milky Way Bars
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
These cookies can be stored on the counter for up to 4 days or in the fridge for up to 5 days if they are in an airtight container or Ziploc bag.
You can also freeze them in an airtight container for up to two months. When you bring them out of the freezer, let them rise to room temperature naturally as opposed to microwaving.

Dark Chocolate Milky Way Cookies
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup salted butter room temperature
- 1/2 brown sugar lightly packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 8 fun size bars Milky Way
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator – covered – for an hour minimum.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop 2T sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Pull the cookie dough balls apart in the middle to place one half of a Milky Way bar into the center. Fold the cookie dough back around the candy bar to cover completely.
- Sprinkle cookies with sea salt. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
