Enjoy homemade chocolate cherry ice cream year ’round with this delicious easy recipe! You can make this the day before your event with just a few ingredients.

Once upon a time in the land of Valentine’s Day desserts, there was a flavor combination so divine, so completely delicious, it was whispered about in hushed tones among all the aficionados.
I’m talking about the legendary duo of chocolate and cherries.
Today we embark on a culinary expedition to create the mythical, the magnificent, the mouth-watering chocolate cherry ice cream.
This cherry and chocolate chip ice cream is rich, it’s luscious, and it’s dotted with chunks of cherries and decadent chocolate, like little treasures waiting to be discovered.
The recipe is so easy, you could probably do it while balancing your checkbook or plotting world domination (though I recommend the latter; it’s more fun).
Ae you ready to take the plunge into this chocolate-cherry wonderland? Are you prepared to become the hero of your own ice cream saga?
Grab your mixing bowl, rally your ingredients, and let’s make some no-churn magic.
Welcome to the delicious, delightful, and slightly daring world of chocolate cherry ice cream. Let the adventure begin!
Here’s what you’re going to need for this ice cream dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups heavy whipping cream
- 15 oz can dark red cherries, drained (and chopped, if desired)
- 1 1/2 cups sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
A substitute for mini chocolate chips would be chopped up chocolate bars or dark chocolate. It’s up to you! If you use regular sized chocolate chips, I’d break them up in a food processor.
The vanilla extract helps complement the fruity sweetness of the cherries. If you want to amplify the cherry flavor, you can sub the vanilla for 1 teaspoon of almond extract.
If you plan to make a lot of ice cream, invest in some reusable containers. They make freezing easy.
Your ice cream will have the best flavor if enjoyed as soon as it’s ready, but it can last for several weeks or months if you store it properly.
Pressing plastic wrap against the surface helps prevent freezer burn (in addition to putting a lid on the top).
