I’ll be honest, Snickers isn’t my favorite candy bar. If I had to choose, it’s probably going to be Milky Way, with Twix being right there too.

They’re all made by Mars, Inc., so I’m not betraying anyone with my bold statement. It just seems like in terms of candy bars, Snickers is always a favorite.

Is it the “you not you when you’re hungry” advertising campaign that has everyone eating them?

I don’t know, but I do know this. While they might not be my favorite candy bar, I absolutely LOVE them in baked goods. I’ve made Snickers cupcakes and they were delicious.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup salted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 egg(s) large
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 Snickers fun size

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
    hand turning an oven on
  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric hand mixer on medium speed to combine the butter and sugars until a crumby, sandy mixture forms. It's okay if there are still small/ medium-sized chunks of butter.
  • Add the caramel sauce, peanut butter, and eggs. Mix on medium speed with the hand mixer for about 2 minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and completely combined. This should work out the remaining chunks of butter.
  • Gently whisk in the baking soda, baking powder, and flour. Stir the mixture continuously until no dry ingredients remain unincorporated.
  • Once the bits are combined, chill the dough for about an hour.
  • Cut the snickers bars into small pieces and set aside.
  • Place 1–2-inch balls of dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes. After 8 minutes, top each cookie with 1-2 candy pieces and bake for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before moving to a wire rack. Allow to cool completely.

Notes

Putting the candy pieces onto the cookies near the end of the baking processes keeps them from baking through the cookies, but ensures they are nice and melted when they come out of the oven.
Instead of using fun sized Snickers, you can also use 1 1/2 king sized Snickers.
I recommend using smooth peanut butter if you want a soft/ chewy cookie; however, if you like a little more crunch in your cookies you can use either crunchy peanut butter or add 1/3 cup of chopped peanuts to the cookie dough after the dry ingredients have been incorporated.
