Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, and it’s not only a time of year that I like to craft, but it’s also a time of year that I like to bake. Or “no-bake,” if the situation arises.

This year I decided to tackle some Halloween truffles that look like mummies! These truffles are completely no bake Halloween desserts for kids! Well, adults too. . . .

I recently partnered with my favorite sweet treat brand, Hershey’s, to bring you a tasty dessert for the upcoming Halloween holiday. I chose to make no-bake, candy corn mummy truffles that are so cute you almost can’t eat them! Notice I said “almost.”

My favorite thing about these Halloween truffles, besides the fact that they are cute and friendly and sweet, is that they incorporate candy corn bars into the recipe. Making these Halloween treats taste like no other.

My second favorite thing is that they are really easy to make. No baking is required, and they are fool proof! First, here’s what you’re going to need.

Ingredients (yield, approximately 16 truffles)

  • Hershey’s Candy Corn Candy Bars – 2 or 3
  • 20 butter cookies – about one sleeve
  • Cream cheese – 4 ounces, softened at room temp
  • White candy melts – 6 ounces
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Candy bones (optional)

Tools

  • Mixing bowl
  • Dipping tool
  • Pastry bag with thin tip
  • Spoon
  • Cook pan
  • Plate
  • Wax paper
  • Food processor or blender (optional)

The mummy truffle base is very easy and you only need three ingredients – the butter cookies, cream cheese, and the candy bars. You’ll need about two or three of the bars . . . depending on how many truffles you want to make.

Grind up the cookies in a food processor. I pulsated mine into a semi-fine powder. If you don’t have a mixer, never fear – you can put the cookies in a plastic bag and smash them with the back of a spoon until they are powdery.

It’s easier to start breaking up the candy bars in the wrappers so the pieces don’t go everywhere (the pieces stay contained).

I found it easy to use my hands to mix the cream cheese, candy bars, and cookie pieces after a certain point.

About the piping bag: 1) it doesn’t matter exactly how large the tip is, just make sure it’s somewhat small; 2) have a dish towel in your squeezing hand because the piping bag is going to get hot!

I’m obsessed with these little guys!! Aren’t they cute for Halloween treats?

When you open them up, you’ll see the delicious filling and the speckles of orange and yellow from the candy bars. These are SO TASTY!!
